UPDATE Sam Wood stood down from fitness business as he remains in custody over domestic violence charges

Former Bachelor Australia star and fitness entrepreneur Sam Wood will remain in custody after facing court on two domestic violence charges following an alleged incident in Noosa over the weekend.
The 46-year-old has been charged with assault occasioning bodily harm in a domestic violence context, and strangulation in a domestic setting. Queensland Police were called to a Hastings Street address at around 9pm on Saturday.
Wood was refused police bail and spent the weekend in custody before the matter was mentioned in Maroochydore Magistrates Court on Monday morning.

No bail application was made on his behalf during Monday’s appearance, meaning Wood will remain behind bars for the time being. His lawyer is reportedly expected to make an application later this week.
The identity of the alleged victim has not been publicly disclosed.
Wood and his wife, Snezana Wood, both shared an identical statement to their Instagram accounts on Monday morning.

“This is a difficult time for all of us; we are working through this as a family and are cooperating with authorities,” the statement read.
Wood rose to national prominence as the Bachelor in 2015, where he met Snezana. The pair married in 2018 and have since become one of the franchise’s most high-profile couples.
Following the show, Wood built fitness platform 28 by Sam Wood, which was sold in 2022 in a deal reportedly worth $71.2 million. He has continued to publicly represent the brand and more recently launched women’s health and weight-management business Ollo for Women.
Following the charges, Wood has reportedly been stood down indefinitely from 28 by Sam Wood.

The matter remains before the courts and the allegations against Wood have not been proven.
