HURRY UP There’s still tickets left to Chantelle Otten’s sexology dinner party

|

We’ll be the first to admit that Wednesday night plans can be a bit of a head-scratcher. And with the weather warming up, and Sydney finally coming out of its winter-long hibernation, it feels wrong not to get up to some mid-week mischief.

Lucky for you, we’ve got you covered. Introducing Chantelle Otten’s Intimacy, Served dinner party, happening on at The White Horse in Surry Hills on Wednesday 2 October. Otten, who’s a sexologist by trade and well known for her podcast Sex Therapy, will be there every step of the way, personally guiding you throughout the intimate dinner.

Now, you’re probably sitting there wondering what on earth could a sexology degustation possibly involve? Essentially, your ticket scores you a seat at a three-course dinner (beverages included, obvs). No question is off the table.

Bring your partner, a girlfriend, or even give it a crack solo. You’ll also get to talk with complete strangers about some pretty personal stuff. Plus, the tables are set for groups of four, making it a weird but kinda amazing way to make new friends—which, let’s be honest, is a feat in Sydney.

Why should you go?

Don’t get me wrong, I’m sure some of you are currently feeling queasy at the thought of talking about your sex life with strangers. But before you cast judgment, hear me out. First of all, the dinner encourages a beautiful little thing called autonomy. How much or how little you share is totally up to you.

Secondly, it’s worth thinking about why talking about sex makes us so uncomfortable when it should be a perfectly normal and healthy conversation. Connecting over these topics can actually help us bond with each other—and more importantly, help us understand ourselves better.

Ask me, and I’d say Otten is doing phenomenal work.

If I’ve sparked your curiosity, good! Tickets run for $100 ($80 for Audible members) and they’re selling fast. You can head here to book for early October. And while you wait for your dinner, why not check out Otten’s podcast?
