EXCLUSIVE Spicy Summer is heating Bondi up. Local Facebook groups are melting down.

Bondi’s latest crisis isn’t a shark sighting, a beach closure, or a $17 açai bowl.
It’s Spicy Summer.
The new YouTube reality series, which dropped its first episode last night, follows four beginner OnlyFans creators living together in a Bondi sharehouse while attending something called the ‘XX Academy’, a bootcamp for adult content creators.
Now this is a reality show I can get around
In other words, the show’s kind of like Love Island meets LinkedIn Learning, but with ring lights, subscription links and the occasional butt plug.
And because we can, we recently got our hands on some exclusive piccies of the cast while filming along the Bondi foreshore. There were beach poses, there were film crews, there were confused tourists. But most of all, there were some very, very outraged locals. I mean, we can only imagine the comments section that are currently popping off in the local Facebook community pages.
“This is a family beach!!!” one angry resident has probably already said
The irony, of course, is that the outrage has only made the show more popular. Episode one has already racked up thousands of views and counting.
While some are calling for the series to be banned, others (me) have to admit it’s…actually kind of interesting? Spicy Summer is the first local reality format to put Australia’s adult creator industry front and centre, something usually kept to private screens and rumour mills. And with the stigma that continues to shroud the industry, perhaps it’s time to demystify it all?

Rest assured, people are going to take this series in many different ways. And while the question of whether it’s empowering, problematic, or just straight up chaotic might still be up for debate, one thing is for sure: it’s definitely not boring.
And of course, in the spirit of transparency, we may or may not be appearing in one of the later episodes. Purely for journalistic purposes, of course.
But until then, Bondi residents can rest assured that while Spicy Summer is heating their beloved beach up, their Facebook threads will be melting down.
