BOO PM continues impressive streak of arriving exactly where he’s not wanted

This morning, Prime Minister Anthony Albanese has quietly continued his rather consistent run of appearing in rooms that would, on balance, prefer he wasn’t there.
His latest outing to the Lakemba Mosque for Eid prayers today was met with boos and shame on you’s from large sections of the crowd. It has added to what is becoming a fairly reliable pattern of public appearances not quite landing as intended.
Despite this, the Prime Minister appears committed to the same approach: show up, back yourself, and proceed as though the room will come around.
To date, the room has yet to come around.
While political strategists and PR teams suggest that visibility and persistence will eventually override public sentiment, early returns have suggested otherwise.
And while Sydney remains heavily divided over most things, the town has briefly found common ground in watching the Prime Minister fail to read the room, once again.
