Yesterday's Golden Bachelor premiere: A glorified reunion of exes in Gold Class

The Golden Bachelor finally premiered last night, which means Australia’s newest and most aggressively wholesome dating show is about to begin its descent into chaos.

So naturally, it was only fair that an official VIP premiere was rolled out earlier yesterday, at Event Cinemas George Street, complete with a Gold Class screening and most of the cast in attendance.

Notable attendees included our trusty host for this season, Samantha Armytage, Bachie Bear himself, and Abbie Chatfield with her mum, who, if you somehow missed it, is one of this season’s contestants. Yes, really.

And while the smiles were wide and the champagne was flowing, you have to hand it to everyone there. It takes serious acting chops to look that thrilled, especially knowing you’ve already filmed the finale and are statistically days away from being unceremoniously dumped on national TV.
