BOOTS ON THE GROUND A deep dive into wtf is going on with that $200k tractor parked up in Double Bay

BY: Kartya Vucetic
It’s not exactly unusual to spot a luxury vehicle in Double Bay. It is, however, slightly less common for that luxury vehicle to be a Massey Ferguson tractor.
Yesterday, Double Bay residents, local influencers and several alert Reddit users were treated to the sight of a tractor parked directly outside fine dining institution Margaret, right in the heart of the 2028 postcode.
And somehow, the tractor itself was not even the strangest part. That honour goes to the parking inspector, who was filmed climbing up onto the tractor to issue it a fine.
Naturally, one question remained: what the hell was it doing there? And, more importantly, why is it still there?
A few theories circulated the So Sydney! office. Was it a local resident’s? Did someone have beef with Margaret’s? Was this some bizarre Farmer Wants A Wife promo?
Now, we can exclusively reveal that the stunt is part of a campaign for the Honda ZR-V, with the Double Bay tractor moment appearing to form part of the wider activation.
And, as it turns out, our last theory may not have been as unhinged as it sounded.
So Sydney! can also reveal that we spotted Farmer Wants A Wife star Will Simpson filming in the area, with fiancee Jess Cova also standing in the background for moral support.
And while we suspect Margaret may be just marginally pissed about having a tractor parked out the front during service, credit where credit is due: Burson PR absolutely nailed the assignment. This one’s kind of a doozy.
