THAT'S SO BRAT Is Charli XCX coming to Sydney?! We unpack all the conspiracy theories atm

Let’s call it for what it is. The weather is warming up, live gigs are a dime a dozen, and there’s just something in the air that’s begging for some questionable life choices.
Mark it official. BRAT summer is finally making its way down under.
Consider this your sign to strap on some knee high black army boots, speedy Y2K sunnies, and a barely there mini tee. Because what better way to ring in our favourite season than with a warranted suspicion that the queen herself, Charli XCX, will be making her way down to Aussie shores?!
Yesterday, Sydney was spun into an absolute frenzy when people spotted an official Laneway Festival billboard posted up in Marrickville. The lime green billboard plastered ‘Laneway’ in black Arial font. As expected, it immediately caught the attention of fans, who noted its semblances to the iconic BRAT album cover. It’s also been reported that the exact same billboard has been spotted in Melbourne and Auckland.
Now, call it wishful thinking. But if that’s not a dead giveaway that mother herself is arriving in town, then I don’t know what is.
And we can delve into the conspiracy even further. One day ago, Charli also posted in her TikTok lip syncing to an audio bite from none other than Kath and Kim. How can she taunt us like this?! I need answers NOW.
Laneway have yet to confirm or deny the rumours. Nevertheless, we’re reasonably confident that they’re not pulling some sick joke on us. And before you get your lacy black pair of knickers in a knot, know that you’ll only have to wait with this anticipation for a few more days. Laneway have promised us that they’ll be releasing the full lineup on Wednesday 9 October.
All I’ll say is, if that beautiful holy woman is not this year’s headliner, I’ll have officially lost all faith in the Australian festival scene. No pressure Laneway.
And if you need something to keep you preoccupied in the meantime, head over here.
