REALITY CHECK Introducing our very first MAFS couple for 2027, Kristen Goedecke and Kayne Buik

|

Ladies and gentlemen, we officially have our first MAFS couple for 2027.

Yesterday, we introduced Adelaide real estate agent Kristen Goedecke after spotting her arriving at the first wedding of the new season. Now, we can reveal the man waiting at the end of the aisle was Perth-based groom, Kayne Buik.

And before you go thinking he looks vaguely familiar, no, you’re not going crazy. Buik didn’t exactly just fall off the reality tv turnip truck.

Who is Kayne Buik?

Our newest groom previously appeared on the inaugural season of The Bachelorette back in 2015, where he competed for Sam Frost’s affections alongside the likes of Richie Strahan, Michael Turnbull and eventual winner Sasha Mielczarek.

Then 25, he was introduced as a mining electrician from Western Australia, making it through to the fifth episode before being sent home. His time on the show notably included a failed yoga headstand, a rap performance, and a suspiciously timed rose tattoo which briefly convinced viewers he had won the whole thing.

Over a decade later, Buik is now the founder and managing director of Perth electrical contracting company Big Electrical WA. According to the Mandurah Mail, he’s also a father. Umm, do I see a central storyline unfolding right in front of our eyes?!

Perhaps most interesting, however, is that Kayne has since developed quite the TikTok following on his ‘Hey Honey’ page. And with over 220,000 followers amassed, he’s become well known for providing unsolicited words of affirmation to women in the dating trenches of 2026. If you’ve been through a breakup recently, then he’s almost certainly been on your fyp.

Who has Buik been partnered with?

Despite Buik’s frequent marriage proposals in his own TikTok comment section, it appears the lucky lady (for now) is incoming MAFS 2027 bride Kristen Goedecke. Yes, the real estate agent from Adelaide’s TOOP+TOOP agency has entirely bypassed the horny women of TikTok, which should be considered a success in itself.

The pair tied the knot while filming at St George Sailing Club in Sans Souci yesterday. Now, they’re officially the first known couple of the 2027 season. And before you ask, of course we have the photos.

Call us crazy, but it seems like these two might be a vibe? Despite a reported tearful bride a la Daily Mail, it appears these two seem rather chuffed with one another. I mean, there’s hands, there’s smiles, there’s mild jacket sharing on a winter’s wedding day. Maybe there’s even been a “hey honey”? What could possibly go wrong?!

Oh wait, this is MAFS.

Hehe. Scroll down to check out the big day.
