SPECIAL DELIVERY Australia Post is turning Sydney General Post Office into a free Harry Potter Owl Post this weekend

Australia Post has spent years delivering Sydney bills, missed-parcel cards and things we don’t remember ordering.
This weekend, it’s finally delivering something useful: a Hogwarts letter.
To celebrate Back to Hogwarts, HBO Max and Australia Post are transforming the historic the Sydney GPO into a free Harry Potter Owl Post Experience across Saturday and Sunday.
Visitors can write their own enchanted letters using quills and Wizarding World-inspired wax seals before sending them on their way through Australia Post. Owl-based delivery, sadly, still remains unavailable.
There’ll also be a suspended “letter swarm” installation designed to recreate the iconic scene in which Harry attempts to catch one of the many Hogwarts letters flying through the Dursleys’ home.
In other words, you’ll finally receive your Hogwarts letter. You’ll just need to write it yourself first.
All the details…
The experience will take over Australia Post’s Sydney GPO at 1 Martin Place from 11am until 5pm on Saturday 29 and Sunday 30 August.
Entry is free. And if you’re heading in on Sunday, public transport is strongly recommended thanks to one rather disruptive Sydney Marathon.
