AS EVER Jackie O And Gemma O spotted plotting Meghan Markle jam strategy at Bills Bondi

It appears that one of Sydney’s most consequential brunch meetings may have quietly taken place at Bills Bondi today, with radio queen Jackie O spotted catching up with her former Besties podcast co-host, manager and long-time real-life bestie, Gemma O’Neill.

The pair were seen grabbing a table at the Bondi institution before getting straight into meeting mode. And while the venue might be known for its famous ricotta hotcakes, we’re hoping a certain jam on toast may or may not have been ordered.

After all, the timing of the catch-up is particularly interesting. Earlier this week, Gemma announced she’ll be sitting down for an in-conversation interview with Meghan Markle at the upcoming ‘Her Best Life’ retreat in April. The event, which will cost attendees an eye-watering $3,000 a pop, will see the Duchess of Sussex headline a women’s weekend filled with wellness sessions, yoga classes and gala dinners.

While Jackie herself has stepped back from hosting duties for the interview, insisting Gemma take the reins, you’d have to imagine a quick strategy session with one of Australia’s most experienced interviewers wouldn’t hurt.

And with Meghan currently deep in the lifestyle era of her brand (think edible flowers, Netflix cooking shows and a highly coveted jam line), it’s hard not to wonder whether the Bondi breakfast meeting may have doubled as a light planning session ahead of the Coogee appearance.

Either way, if there’s one thing Sydney knows well, it’s that some of the city’s most interesting media deals tend to get quietly hashed out over a very good brunch.
