Matt Damon swans into town on a private jet and visits many Merivale favourites

|

They say when in Rome, do as the Romans do. And that’s exactly the advice Matt Damon followed on his visit to Sydney last week. We’d say the Hollywood superstar was Sydney sightseeing, but we’d be more accurate in describing it as more of a tour of Merivale restaurants. One’s that just all happen to be in Sydney.

Landing on the good ol’ PJ on 12 August, we caught him at Mr Wongs having a post-flight lunch with the fam later that afternoon. It appears he didn’t stray far at all from the precinct that day, having also been spotted slithering into IVY for dinner that same night. Not an experimental eater, are we? Awww, shame.

Of course, the Hollywood stud couldn’t have possibly left without also hitting up the Merivale trifecta. On 14 August, we caught him out at Totti’s Bondi. He even brought along old mate Chris Hemsworth with him. On a separate note, name a more iconic Australian image than literally Chris Hemsworth at Totti’s Bondi. I’ll wait.

Anyway, just knowing Chrissy babe and I have eaten that same stupid bread and burrata makes me feel closer to him. Now I can rest in peace.
