Renee Zellweger and Leo Woodall lead the arrivals at the Australian premiere of Bridget Jones: Mad About The Boy

It’s red carpet season, baby! And after last Friday’s AACTA Awards, the bar has officially been set high.

Last night, the purple carpet was rolled out for the premiere of Renee Zellweger’s newest Bridget Jones flick, Mad About The Boy. And boy, are we mad about her. It’s been nearly ten years since the last Bridget Jones instalment, and we’re silently fist pumping the air that it’s back again.

Now, to the fashion. First, to the star of the show, Renee Zellweger. The actress opted for a peachy pink strapless gown, which she paired with metallic red pumps and a matching bracelet. As far as Valentine’s Day-come -romcom looks go, she absolutely nailed this. And can I also say how refreshing it is for a star to actually look like they’re enjoying themselves on the red carpet?! Not a smize in sight.

Zellweger was also joined by her co-stars, Chiwetel Ejiofor and Leo Woodall, who both opted for more relaxed, smart looks. As for the rest of the attendees, special shoutouts go to Pippa Northeast, Sally Phillips and Erin Holland. These three easily make it onto the best dressed list.

As for the others, the jury is still out. And while there might not have been any major fashion faux pas, I suspect the spectacle that was last week’s AACTA Awards has meant that everything else feels, well, anticlimactic.
