PREMIERE Sydney experiences unprecedented levels of celebrity last night at the Wuthering Heights premiere

For a city that insists it’s globally relevant, Sydney really does lose its mind the second more than three recognisable people land at the same time.
Last night’s Wuthering Heights red carpet proved exactly that.
Leading the charge were hometown hero Margot Robbie and certified internet boyfriend Jacob Elordi, who between them managed to raise the city’s collective heart rate by at least 15 per cent. Margot did what Margot does best: polished, composed, and entirely aware of the effect she has on literally everyone.
Elordi, meanwhile, leaned into brooding man territory like he’s been rehearsing for it his entire life. And let’s be real, he probably has. And if that wasn’t enough, Hailey Bieber made a cameo while in town for a very busy week of Vogue and Rhode-related duties. Casual.
Elsewhere on the carpet, Sarah Snook delivered her usual brand of effortless cool, while Sarah Ellen reminded everyone that Sydney’s fashion set still knows how to show up when required.
And then there was Tammy Hembrow, who, according to plan, did not come quietly. The influencer turned heads by hard-launching her new, still-mysterious man on the carpet in what can only be described as a decidedly undemure fashion.
What can I say, this truly has been a week stacked with plot twists wherever we look.
The real takeaway? The entire city has been running on high-alert energy thanks to the rare occurrence of multiple relevant people being in town simultaneously. For somewhere that insists it’s a global city, we really do swoon like a regional centre the second Hollywood touches down.
Anyway. Scroll on for the best looks from the night.
