WEATHER BoM’s new summer forecast is out, and basically everything’s just kind of on fire

Sydney, it’s time to sip on some iced water and brace yourself. The Bureau of Meteorology has just released their latest weather forecasting for the summer, and it’s looking…well…spicy.
Unless you’ve been living under a beautifully air-conditioned rock, October’s already been breaking temperature records. And it appears that days like today will be less of the exception and more the rule as we move into the final months of 2025. Yes, we’re talking “sleeping with a wet towel on your chest” levels of hot.

How I’ll be feeling come midday today
BoM says we should brace ourselves for “severe weather” between now and April. They’re predicting we’ll be copping above-average temps across the country, higher fire risks, and not much rain to save us. So basically: hot days, sweaty nights, and your air-con bill personally victimising you.
In summary: it’s going to be a long, sweaty summer. SPF is your religion now, and deodorant is a social responsibility. Honestly? It’s starting to make me wish back to our soggy La Niña years.
