THE SCENE Sydney’s beautiful people clocked in early for AFW at the H&M x Stella McCartney launch

|

Sydney’s fashion crowd emerged from whatever pilates studio, creative agency or Eastern Suburbs group chat they usually reside in last night, descending on The Vault on Clarence Street for the launch of H&M’s latest designer collaboration with Stella McCartney.

The event marked the Australian preview of the new collection, which officially launches this Thursday online and in selected stores.

The room was, predictably, a model and influencer scene. Among the notable faces spotted was Pip Edwards and her son, who joined a crowd of Sydney fashion types, content people and genetically blessed individuals who basically make up your entire TikTok for you page.

The collaboration lands more than 20 years after Stella McCartney first teamed up with H&M in 2005, with the new collection revisiting the designer’s archive through a more modern lens. According to H&M, the range brings together relaxed tailoring, wardrobe staples and McCartney’s signature take on modern femininity, with a focus on recycled and certified materials, including fibres made from alternative feedstocks such as industrial corn.

So, consider this your warning: if you see someone looking unusually chic in H&M this week, mind your business. They have simply survived the drop.
