FOOD GURUS Whisky, seafood and a dash of MasterChef royalty featured at last night’s Tamdhu x Saint Peter preview event

|

Last night, iconic Paddington institution, Saint Peter, was in full sparkle as celeb chef Josh Niland played host to an intimate preview of his upcoming Father’s Day collab with Tamdhu Single Malt Scotch Whisky. And let’s just say the guest list was almost as rich as the sherry casks.

On the menu: a bespoke three-course seafood feast, each dish meticulously paired with Tamdhu’s bold, sherried whisky. Niland himself guided guests through the evening, breaking down the flavour inspiration behind each match in that easy, whip-smart way that makes you wonder why he’s not hosting his own primetime show already.

And while the whisky and seafood were the main event, the dining room had its own star power. A sprinkling of MasterChef favourites: Steph De Sousa, Tommy Pham, Hayden Quinn, and Juan De La Cruz, to name a few. In other words, they might as well have rebranded the event as the ‘Mini MasterChef Reunion’ with the number of TV’s golden alumni in attendance.

The collaboration, which pairs Tamdhu’s deep, sherried richness with Saint Peter’s bold, boundary-pushing seafood, officially opens to the public from 24 August to 7 September. So if you’re into the likes of whisky on arrival, three elevated courses, and some serious pairing wisdom imparted, then this one’s for you.
