FASHION GIRLIE Mary Fowler just swapped the pitch for Paris Fashion Week, and made history doing it

From the World Cup to the world’s most glamorous runway, Mary Fowler has officially added “fashion girlie” to her CV.
That’s right, the Matildas and Manchester City star made history overnight as the first professional footballer to walk Paris Fashion Week, hitting the L’Oréal Paris runway in a black Christian Siriano gown. Oh, and might I say alongside the likes of Kendall Jenner, Dame Helen Mirren, Jane Fonda, Gillian Anderson, Eva Longoria and Viola Davis.

“Stepping onto the runway was an exhilarating experience and different from anything I’ve experienced on the football pitch,” Fowler said.
She added that she hoped young women back home in Australia, “felt that sense of empowerment and are inspired to embrace their individuality and walk with pride, knowing they are worth it.”

It’s a major moment for the 22-year-old, who’s still recovering from an ACL injury but somehow found time to jet off to Paris and serve looks that even had the French paps scrambling. We’d already spotted her working a chic low-key vibe in Sydney earlier this year, but this? This is a full pivot into global fashion territory.
From penalty shootouts to strutting alongside Hollywood icons, Fowler is quickly proving there’s basically nothing she can’t do.
