JUST ANNOUNCED Sammy Virji is officially bringing UK Garage to the Opera House this March

|

Well, it looks like our Wednesday mornings all just got that bit better, because UK garage heavyweight Sammy Virji has just announced he’ll be bringing his global live show debut to the Sydney Opera House in March this year. Everybody stay calm.

Here’s what you need to know.

The headline performance has been locked in for Monday 9 March, and marks a major milestone in Virji’s rapidly rising career. Presented by Higher Grnd, the show comes right off the bat of his largest-ever Australian tour.

Designed specifically for the Opera House, the performance will expand his sound beyond the DJ booth into a fully realised live environment, placing UK garage on one of the most prestigious cultural stages in the world.

Over the past eight years, Virji has become a defining force in the modern UKG resurgence, known for his crisp percussion, infectious swing and instantly recognisable productions. From breakout track If U Need It to debut album Same Day Cleaning, plus collaborations with the likes of Chris Lake, Skepta, Flowdan and Giggs, and appearances at festivals including Coachella, his global profile has continued to accelerate.

Ticket prices are still unknown, but we’ll be keeping you in the loop obviously. Presale registrations are now open, with limited tickets going on sale at 9am this Friday 30 January.
