Celebrities, nameless hot people and Nick Kyrgios step out to Pelicano’s in Potts Point over the long weekend

|

On the eve of Easter Sunday, one might reasonably expect people to be celebrating the resurrection of Christ himself. In Sydney? The Easter long weekend is the holiest of guises to get on the piss and go on a four-day bender.

And guess what? That’s exactly what happened.

On Saturday, Pelicano Potts Point opened its doors to ‘Australia’s Most Influential People’ (yes, that’s what they called it), for a night of free flowing booze to celebrate their success. Because that’s just what this town needs. More influencers thinking about themselves even more than they already do in their day-to-day life.

All jokes aside, we’re giving major props to Pelicano for hosting what did end up being a rather impressive soiree. Just when we thought Kings Cross nightlife was six feet under, we’ve been thrown a lifeline by the place that most once recognised as Hugos Lounge.

Having opened its refurbished doors just last year, restauranteur Andrew Becher has led the way in revitalising the property, which is perhaps best known now for it being the new celebrity hotspot. Don’t believe me? Alongside ex-MAFS stars, Love Island contestants and nameless but probably influential hot people, Nick Kyrgios also made an appearance on the night.

As someone who also attended the event (more as an onlooker than anything else), I can personally vouch that this place was pumping. Sure, you’ll get the odd person here or there that feels they are just far too cool to be seen dancing, but then again, where in Sydney doesn’t that happen? For the most part, the music was good, the venue was great, and the vibes were pumping. We have previously overlooked Pelicano (and most places in Kings Cross, for that matter), but rest assured we won’t be making that mistake again.

Honourable mentions also go to Ryan Donnelly and Tony Mojanovski from this most recent season of MAFS, who were no stranger to the dance floor. And of course, it wouldn’t be a true Sydney influencer party without appearances from Jamie Azzopardi, Tom Gay, and the king of MAFS himself, Ali Daher.

Well, ladies and gentlemen, that’s a wrap from me. It’s been quite the weekend, and now’s your chance to scroll down and check out all the pics from the hottest party of Saturday night.
