EXCLUSIVE Bec Zacharia says cosmetic surgery triggered body dysmorphia, reveals more procedures are coming

MAFS star Bec Zacharia has spoken candidly about experiencing body dysmorphia following cosmetic surgery, while revealing she is already considering several more procedures.

Speaking exclusively to So Sydney! while recovering from a breast lift and augmentation in Bali, Zacharia said her previous rib contouring procedure had changed the way she perceived the rest of her body, even though she remains happy with the result.

“With my snatched waist surgery, for example, when I was giving my updates, I did say, ‘Look, it’s induced a bit of body dysmorphia in me because my waist is getting smaller and I feel like my limbs are getting bigger,’” she said.

She later expanded on the experience, describing how the change to one part of her body caused her to scrutinise others.

“As your waist was getting smaller, and it looks smaller in the corset, I’m like, ‘Are my arms too fat? Are my legs too fat?’” she said.

Zacharia said she had to remind herself that her natural proportions had not suddenly changed. Instead, the feeling was connected to the dramatic shift in how she was seeing her body.

The conversation comes after what Zacharia described as a major period of physical transformation. She said she has lost around 37kg and has undergone several cosmetic procedures this year, while also beginning Invisalign treatment.

Despite acknowledging the psychological impact of some of those changes, Zacharia said she does not regret the work done.

“I’d 100% do them all again,” she said. “No regrets.”

And she is not finished.

When asked whether any further cosmetic work was planned, Zacharia confirmed there were three more procedures she would like to have.

“There are three other procedures that I really want done,” she said, adding that two relate to the effects of significant weight loss.

She confirmed one would involve removing excess skin, but declined to reveal the remaining two.

“I’ve lost a whole person, guys, from my body,” she said. “When you’ve been overweight your whole life, your skin is stretched.”

Zacharia also revealed she had previously considered transferring fat from her legs into her buttocks. However, friends convinced her not to go ahead. She ultimately described the idea as “completely unnecessary” and said she instead planned to focus on training.
