MAFS SPOILER! The image that proves the fate of one couple

Somehow every year, the Married At First Sight producers deliver us a cast of singles that still manage to shock us, even after 12 seasons of the show. And while none of us are sitting here holding our breath for an epic love story (we’d be dead by now, let’s be real), as the old saying goes it’s about the journey, not the destination. And the journey is like being stuck in the Luna Park mirror maze with no literal way out, while images of the experts smiling maniacally flash in front of your eyes.
Already, rumours are rife that the success rate of this season isn’t going to be, well, strong. While some couples currently look like they could go the distance – e.g. Paul and Carina, Dave and Jamie, Rhi and Jeff – others are like watching a slow-moving train crash. Like, we all want to tear our eyes away from Jacqui and Ryan, but it’s proving to be virtually impossible.
One couple who developed a strong connection, but a connection that has been tested with relentless drama, has been Adrian Araouzou and Awhina Rutene. And while their antics on-screen have been one thing, the antics off-screen are starting to pick up action. Now, So Sydney has discovered a new photo that gives us a very big hint as to whether Adrian and Awhina will make it work. So, if you hate spoilers, this is your one warning to get outta here.
Now that’s out of the way, let’s go back a bit…
MAFS’ Adrian spotted with another woman, blames twin James
As Yahoo Lifestyle reported at the start of February, a MAFS fan spotted Adrian out and about in Sydney with a mystery woman, with the onlooker saying Adrian was holding hands and looking “cozy” with the brunette. The publication also uploaded a series of grainy shots showing Adrian with his arm around the woman, with his hand resting on her derriere at some stage, So, you know, not how you hug a friend.
“I notice that it’s not the girl he got married to on the show and they were looking very cozy together. They probably just had a date night and were going to a bar or something cause this was around 11pm-12am. But yeah, he was definitely with a different girl to his wife on the show, so that is done,” the person told Yahoo.
In a bizarre twist, Adrian then told Yahoo that it wasn’t him, but it was his twin brother James who was up visiting from Melbourne. “I think people forget I have a twin brother and he is here in Sydney with me at the moment and he is single,” Adrian said.
When pressed further by the publication, due the the placement of the twins’ tattoos (James has a sleeve tattoo on his right arm while Adrian’s tattoos are only on his left arm – and the photos feature a man without any tattoos on his right arm) Adrian then just vaguely said, “I guess we’ll have to wait and find out, I don’t know.”
Adrian’s mystery girl dates back to 2024
Now, So Sydney can reveal Adrian’s mystery gal may have been around for a little while, as it appears the two spent NYE in Sydney together with another MAFS groom, intruder Teejay Halkias.
The girl in question, Geneva, has an Instagram highlights reel showing her Sydney adventures, with an image captioned ‘Bris takes Syd’ as she poses with Teejay and Adrian on New Year’s Eve. And if Teejay has flown in from Brisbane to spend NYE with his new MAFS buddy Adrian, we can only guess what that says about where his marriage ends up…
BUT, even juicier: just four days ago, Geneva uploaded a photo of what appeared to be Adrian’s dog Casper. Despite this, the two don’t appear to be following each other on Instagram and Geneva’s profile is currently on private.
