PRIVACY TOUR Day one of Harry and Meghan’s carefully managed visit continues to be carefully managed

Harry and Meghan have officially touched down in Australia, kicking off day one of their very private, very thoroughly photographed national tour. It’s a multi-day programme set to once again divide the country into those who love the Duke and Duchess, and those who would prefer to never hear about them again.
Today’s instalment saw the pair make appearances at the Royal Children’s Hospital and the Australian National Veterans’ Art Museum in Melbourne, as part of a broader itinerary focused on mental health, community resilience and support for veterans. All important, all serious, and all delivered with the kind of careful coordination that ensures nothing remotely unpredictable occurs.

So far, so expected.
Where things begin to take a slightly more Sydney turn, however, is in the finer details of the programme. Alongside these community-focused engagements, the weekend will also see Meghan Markle headline a wellness-style talk in Coogee, with tickets reportedly priced at around $3,000 per person. It will offer attendees the opportunity to engage with the themes of the tour in a more premium, ocean-adjacent setting.
Which, in many ways, feels so very Sydney.

As the visit unfolds, Australians can expect a steady stream of updates, imagery, and increasingly firm opinions from both sides of the national divide, as the country once again grapples with its complicated relationship with a couple it can’t seem to ignore.
All in all, day one has gone exactly to plan, with the remainder of the tour expected to continue in much the same fashion, just with presumably better weather once they hit Sydney.
