BREAKING Jackie O files suit against ARN, seeks compensation of “at least $82,250,000”

And just like clockwork, here we are again.
In breaking news this morning, Jackie ‘O’ Henderson has filed proceedings in the Federal Court against Commonwealth Broadcasting Corporation (the ARN subsidiary that holds the KIIS 1065 licence). She alleges that the termination of her contract constitutes “adverse action”, thereby breaching the Fair Work Act.
In the filing, Henderson claims her contract termination came after she made formal complaints relating to concerns with co-host Kyle Sandilands, following their argument on air earlier this year. She alleges that this termination effectively repudiated her contract.
On top of that, Henderson is claiming an ASX announcement released by ARN on March 3 about her termination contained misleading and deceptive statements under Australian Consumer Law.
She is seeking compensation of at least $82.25 million, plus penalties, interest and legal costs. ARN has said it disputes the claims and will defend the case. It comes only days after Kyle Sandilands made his first Federal Court appearance for his own suit against the company.
