COZZIE LIVS Red Rooster is slinging whole roast chooks for just $10. Do with that what you will.

Good news kids, your bachelor’s handbag just got cheaper thanks to Red Rooster.
From Wednesday 1 July, the maroon chook will be slinging whole roast chickens for just $10. It’s perhaps devastating news for anyone who has recently paid $18 for a salad.
The offer runs every Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday until Tuesday 18 August, and it’s available all day at participating Red Rooster restaurants while stocks last.
Naturally, there are some conditions. It is dine-in, takeaway and drive-thru only, meaning no delivery for those too lazy to walk down the road about twenty metres. There’s also a limit of two whole chickens per customer, presumably to stop one person from ruining it for everyone.
Nevertheless, a full roast chook for $10 is useful information. Costing less than most work takeaway lunches, a good ol’ fashioned bachelors handbag gives you theoretically enough food for dinner, tomorrow’s lunch and perhaps that feral snack you decide to make over the sink in the middle of the night without your glasses on. Couldn’t be me.
Is it glamorous? Not exactly. But it’s 2026 after all, a girl’s gotta eat.
