THIS JUST IN Spilt Milk just released their lineup for 2025 and oh my god we’re so back

I think I can speak for the collective when I say that absolutely zero, zilch work has been done this morning after Spilt Milk just released their festival lineup for this year. Because let’s be real, even just the thought of seeing Doechii live in the flesh in the near future is enough to send me into total and complete orbit.
And if you’re unlike me and chronically offline, let me catch you up. After a saddening cancellation of the festival last year (RIP Aussie music scene), Spilt Milk have just announced that they’re bringing back the show for 2025. And the lineup has essentially broken the internet.
Honestly, when Laneway announced Charli XCX was headlining back in February, we really thought that was going to be the peak of our live music scene this year. The exclusive show might have been the only thing to quash increasing rumours that Australia’s festival scene was officially six feet under after last year’s mass cancellations. But it appears the announcement might have catalysed some sort of cosmic shift in the universe, because why is it that all of a sudden major global artists are interested in coming all the way down under?

While I don’t have the answer to that, all I will say is that I’m certainly far from mad about it.
Who can we expect to see in December?
At the very top of the list, we of course have to start with Kendrick Lamar. You’d recognise him immediately from his infamous Super Bowl performance this year, where he performed his Drake diss track They Not Like Us live on stage in the most gloriously petty way you could imagine. The Be Humble star is known for his insane stage presence, and is undisputedly one of, if not the, best male rapper currently in the game.
Standing alongside him will be none other than Doechii. After winning ‘Best Rap Album’ at the Grammy’s this year, many people have called her an overnight sensation after her viral TikTok song Denial Is A River took over the internet. But really, like any top charting artist, it wasn’t an overnight success and actually took a lot of work, lol. In all seriousness, I’d probably sell my firstborn child off to see this lady perform live.
And while everyone is mostly spending their morning frothing these two, Split Milk have pulled an absolute miracle in delivering us some seriously impressive additional sets. Special shoutouts go to electronic DJ Sara Landry, Nessa Barrett, Skin On Skin, Schoolboy Q, Sombr and Rebecca Black?! Like, what?! How on earth I’m possibly going to manifest my body at each of the three stages simultaneously, I don’t know.

How do I buy tickets?
If Laneway is anything to go by, we can more or less be assured that tickets to Spilt Milk will sell out almost instantly. Those lucky enough to flash their $200 bucks in Moshtix’ face will be talking about it until the end of the year, when the festival is held in Canberra on Saturday 13 December.

Now, most people are probably thinking that they’re best bet to score a ticket is at the pre-sale, which goes live at 8am on Thursday 8 May. And while that’s definitely a viable option, the less-discussed and probably more successful route would be to opt into Moshtix’ new ‘Ticket Request’ system that’s open from now until Tuesday 6 May. Don’t ask me how it works, but for $15 more you can pre-authorise your ticket transaction and essentially save yourself the risk of getting stuck in what will undeniably be a length online queue next week. Is it a guarantee? Honestly, I have no idea.
First Release General Admission tickets are $205, and while that’s a hefty price to pay, we think it’s pretty good value for money given the setlist. Here’s hoping they don’t pull a Laneway and put all the good people on at once, because if so I’ll actually be sent into a conniption.
