EXCLUSIVE Married at First Sight? Not exactly. Turns out Jeff Gobbels and Rhi Disljenkovic already knew each other.

Well, this is, um, awkward. The newest wedding on the MAFS block, between Jeff Gobbels and Rhi Disljenkovic, isn’t quite a technical marriage at first sight. That’s right, it turns out the pair actually already know each other.

Now that’s a plot twist we weren’t expecting so early in the season.

As reported earlier, the filming of the couple took place yesterday at Gunners Barracks in Mosman. You can only imagine the bride and groom’s shock when it was Rhi who made her grand entrance at the other end of the aisle.

Jeff, whose identity was revealed only yesterday, is a Melbourne-based Founder and Director of Splash Vodka. He’s also dipped his toes into acting in the past, having featured on a Neighbours episode in 2017 as well as playing minor characters in a few films.

And perhaps there’s some logic behind the matching. Rhi was the first contestant to be confirmed for the upcoming season, and she’s also Melbourne-based. More interestingly, however, is her bizarre resemblance to Jeff’s ex-wife that he married in 2019. Will this be the fire starter to kickstart their marriage? Or will it perhaps trigger him into remembering that one time he accidentally married his housemate? I guess it’s too soon to tell.

Either way, it appears both contestants were good sports about it, laughing it off lightheartedly. Heck, they even had a little pash! As two good-looking, Melbourne-based singles that are certainly at marriage age, one can only wonder…Was this their first pash? Have they explored a less-than-platonic relationship before?

We’re holding back as to not spoil everything too soon. In the meantime, here are a few pics from the paps to whet your appetite.
