THIRSTY? Sydney locals forecasted to engage in mild violence over free Aperols this Saturday

It’s that time of year again: the sun’s out, serotonin’s spiking, and Aperol is taking over the city in what can only be described as the most chaotic bar crawl Sydney’s ever seen.
Have I intrigued you? Good, because this Saturday, 75 roaming Aperol waiters will be parading through some of the city’s most iconic spots. From Watsons Bay and Bondi Beach, to Barangaroo and Circular Quay, they’ll be handing out free Spritzes to anyone quick enough to scan their QR code shirt.
In other words, think of it as Pokémon Go, just with alcohol and better outfits.
To play along, all you’ll need to do is spot a waiter, scan their shirt, and redeem your drink at a nearby venue. Participating spots include Watsons Bay Hotel, North Bondi Fish, North Bondi RSL, Barangaroo House, Opera Bar, Woodcut, Icebergs Harbour Bar, a’Mare and Manly Pavilion. So really, all the good places.
You can even track the waiters in real time via Aperol’s social channels, because after all, nothing says “Saturday in Sydney” like chasing an orange-clad stranger for a drink.
