CLUB CIRCUIT Sydney nightlife once again saved by S.A.S.H just in time for summer

|

After 15 years of soundtracking the city’s Sundays, Sydney’s most enduring house music institution is shaking things up. And dare I say maybe, just maybe, saving a small piece of our nightlife in the process.

S.A.S.H, the underground party series synonymous with bleary-eyed Monday mornings and sunrise sets, has officially announced a major move: the beloved Sunday ritual is heading to Saturday nights.

Launching this weekend, S.A.S.H Saturdays will take over Carousel on Oxford Street as its new weekly home, marking a symbolic shift for a city long accused of shutting down before midnight. Extended 6am finishes, sunrise sets, and brand collabs with international crews like Half BakedSlapfunk Records, and Dan Ghenacia’s Apollonia are already locked in.

How will this change Sydney nightlife?

The move signals more than just a timetable tweak, it’s a cultural recalibration. For years, S.A.S.H has been a cornerstone of Sydney’s recovery-era nightlife, outlasting lockouts, licensing dramas, and a revolving door of short-lived venues. Now, it’s taking that same community energy and bringing it back to the heart of the weekend.

Carousel’s also the perfect place for it. Last year, it was the only club in Australia to make (and have ever made) Nightlife International’s Top 100 Global List. It’s also currently undergoing a facelift which promises to bring it back even better than ever. New lighting, a refreshed layout, and a strict no-phones policy is all aimed at keeping the dance floor focused on the music, not the content.

So yes, Sydney nightlife may just be coming back to life — and in true S.A.S.H style, it’s doing it with a sunrise finish.
