BINGEWORTHY ‘The Summer I Turned Pretty’ cast step out in Sydney for Prime Book Club Live

Another week, another opportunity for Sydney to play host to the international stars. This week, it was none other than the cast of cult-followed series, The Summer I Turned Pretty, and my god has the launch of Season 3 brought a turnout with it.

Hosted at Machine Hall last night, an array of Sydney socialites, influencers and media flocked to the event to catch some of our favourite on-screen characters, and our OG author, in the flesh. Because after all, since when did a love-triangle-slash-coming-of-age series have to be exclusively consumed by teenage girls?? I think not.

Okay, so I’ll admit I’ve never seen it. But after having just watched the trailer I can tell you that I’ve already cleared the evening and now won’t be contactable for three to five business days.

Series author, Jenny Han, stood alongside lead cast members including Lola Tung, Rain Spencer and Mercedes Ron. But of course, it wouldn’t be a true Sydney event without appearances from the likes of Bella Varelis, Justin Hill and Cyclone Cyrell.

Honestly, I’m all here for the Book Club vibe. It’s cute, it’s cosy, it’s giving “it’s pissing down in Sydney and a weeknight”. I’ll admit, I’m slightly terrified that there’s not a single jacket or item of winter clothing in sight, but I guess there’s nothing quite as warming as a glass of free PR bubbles.
