BRAVE Tammy Hembrow steps out with Grayson Te Moana ahead of Channel Nine’s deeply unserious celebrity shark show

Channel Nine’s new celebrity reality series SHARK! is set to premiere this Sunday night. Frankly, the concept sounds so ridiculous that we regret to inform you it may actually be excellent television.

The series follows six famous Australians as they head to the Bahamas to confront their fear of, well, sharks. It’s groundbreaking, it’s brave, and it’s also deeply fucking unnecessary.

The cast includes Scotty Cam, Ariarne Titmus, Lynne McGranger, Tammy Hembrow, Sam Thaiday and Matt Nable. They’ll each be put through a series of increasingly risky underwater challenges involving bull sharks, hammerheads and tiger sharks.

To be fair, the show does come with a more serious conservation angle, with shark attack survivor and former navy clearance diver Paul de Gelder joining shark expert Annie Guttridge to guide the cast through the experience.

But still, there is admittedly something funny about the thought of sending influencers to the Bahamas to face apex predators.

The cast stepped out for a photocall in Sydney this morning ahead of the premiere, giving us our first proper look at the group before the chaos begins. Of course, all eyes were on Tammy Hembrow, who brought her new beau Grayson Te Moana along for the carnage.

SHARK! airs on Sunday night at 7:30pm on Channel Nine and 9Now, before continuing on Monday. Yes, it sounds like the stupidest show ever commissioned. Yes, we will be watching it.
