HORSING AROUND Grace Hayden is a vision in white at Royal Randwick for Everest race day. King and Queen a no show despite much clickbait

PICS: MATRIXWhen I think of springtime, nothing conjures in my mind quite as strongly as the image of a bunch of media personalities and influencers playing dress ups and betting on the ponies.
No? Just me? Oh well.
This Saturday, we spotted exactly that. Punters and socialites alike stepped out on the ‘ton in their finest gear to fraternise, drink Veuve, and drop enough money to make any reasonable person question whether Australia was actually in a cost-of-living crisis at all.
And for the record, this was no ordinary day at the races. The TAB Everest Day is also known as the ‘World’s Richest Race on Turf’, and is recognised as one of Sydney’s most prestigious. The stakes are also raised to $20 million, so make no mistake, the people mean business.
This year’s theme was ‘a touch of blue’, with many suspecting this might be a reference to the current royals’ visit down under. And with King Charles III replacing the $5 million George Main Stakes of last year, the day did not go without unfounded claims that Charlie and Camilla might rock up.
They did, in fact, not.
And while we might not have been graced with the presence of His and Her Majesty, we were with the very queen of TV, Sonia Kruger. And a win is a win, if you ask me. We spotted Kruger donning a one-shoulder, white gown that was paired with a light blue Prada headband.
Best dressed goes to…
Of course, if we’re handing out fashion awards, we also can’t skip past Grace Hayden. The custom INGRID OLIĆ mini was to die for. It might just be the cutest little bubble dress I’ve ever seen, and I need it on my body immediately. I also appreciate the touch of blue crystal earrings. Effortless, chic, 10/10.
