VERY DEMURE Is showing your knickers on the red carpet a fashion faux pas? Emily Weir becomes the tester bunny

PICS: MATRIXHome and Away star Emily Weir has divided the internet overnight with her not-so-safe Logies dress selection. The ASTON Bridal gown left little to the imagination, with only a few shreds of baby pink fabric covering the good old toosh.
“Bloody rocked it,” one commenter wrote.
Despite the influx of fire emojis from hype girls and drooling emojis from finstas, not everyone was quick to praise the revealing gown. Many took to Weir’s Instagram to critique the choice.
“SO tacky just changed my opinion of you,” one person said.
“The dress is nice, but not a fan of seeing the knickers it’s odd,” another mentioned.
“This dress is horrendous,” a fan added.
Want my two cents? I’ll be the first to admit that Weir looks hot. The beading and tassels on the gown were intricate and actually quite stunning. Plus, she rocked it with a hell of a lot of confidence when jaunting down the red carpet.
That said, the Logies aren’t the Grammys. This isn’t the time or place to pull off a meat dress à la Gaga, or really any form of baring it all on the carpet. At the end of the day, it’s a black-tie event, and I think that’s something that should be respected.
On top of that, there’s something tired about a skinny chick rocking a barely-there dress. It’s not particularly original, and it’s giving “is it a fit or is she just skinny.” I can’t help but wonder whether people would react the same way if it were anyone else – or any other size – trying to pull this off. After all, if your bum cheeks are your main accessory, maybe the dress just isn’t that great. Idk.
