It’s safe to say that when it comes to stars making their way across to Sydney this past week, we’ve been absolutely spoiled for choice. We’ve had Olivia Rodrigo one day, to King Charles III and Queen Camilla the next. And in all of the kerfuffle, how could we possibly forget none other than Oscar award-winning actor, Kate Winslet?!
On Sunday, we spotted her making an appearance at Sydney’s Randwick Ritz theatre. Naturally, a cast of thousands also followed the A-lister, who is perhaps best known for her role as Rose in The Titanic.
Winslet arrived in Sydney over the weekend in advance of the premiere of her new and critically acclaimed film, Lee. Directed by Ellen Kuras, the film traces the journey of model, Vogue photographer, and American World War II war correspondent, Lee Miller.
“For me, it was an untold story,” Winslet tells The Daily Telegraph.
The release of the film has also been no easy feat. After multiple funding woes, the project in full has taken eight years to complete. The biographical drama also features Josh O’Connor, Marion Cotillard, Andy Samberg and Alexander Skarsgard.
On Sunday, Winslet was seen donning an oversized white blazer. She paired the look with black pants, pumps and simple jewellery.
Lee will be out in Australian cinemas this Thursday 24 October.
