EDITING FAIL MAFS producers bump hot people weddings to the front, proving that nice guys actually do come last

When it comes to MAFS producers, you just know they fight dirty. After all, you can’t become the most-watched reality show in Australia without ruffling at least a few feathers, right?
This time around, we’ve picked up a rather interesting editing strategy. We’d say fail, but we just know this one was entirely intentional.
Tonight’s MAFS premiere saw two couples wedded at first sight…
Carina Mirabile and Paul Antoine, as well as Lauren Hall and Eliot Donovan. And let’s be real, blind fucking Freddy could tell that these were all disgustingly hot people. Even just by the way they talked. Like, seriously, with these Kim Kardashian and Tom Cruise lookalikes, my eyeballs were actually offended by both couples’ physical beauty.
Eliot Donovan, you international man of mystery
And while it’s safe to say that both weddings did, in fact, provide some seriously overdue reality television drama, we immediately were left with one burning question. Why have they put these weddings first, when both ceremonies were some of the last to take place out of all the contestants?
That’s right. If you thought we’d only just jumped on the MAFS train, think again. Because we’ve been following these lovebirds around since day dot. Lauren and Elliot didn’t tie the knot until July 26 last year, which came three days after the very first wedding – being Jamie and Dave. So why on earth would they be putting these couples first?
More hot people
Now, it’s safe to assume that the producers decided to lead with the strongest content. After all, we have to get hooked to the drug that is MAFS quickly if we’re going to stick by the whole season. But with plenty of drama promised in upcoming episodes, one must question whether ‘strongest content’ is actually just a nice way of saying ‘hottest content’. At the end of the day, it really is a business, and these producers have rent to pay.
All I’ll say is that it appears in the world of MAFS, perhaps nice guys do, in fact, finish last.
