ARE YOU NOT ENTERTAINED?
Paul Mescal and Connie Nielsen lead the arrivals at the Gladiator II Australian Premiere

|

Here ye, here ye. Sydney scored yet another internationally acclaimed film premiere this week, and by no means was it one to turn your thumbs down at.

Last night, a cast of thousands flocked unto the ICC and IMAX Theatre to catch the Australian premiere of Gladiator II. And yes, Paul Mescal was there (*internal screams*).

After 24 whopping years since it’s predecessor, film director Ridley Scott made his official comeback to host the sequel. And while we can’t reveal anything about the movie yet (you’ll be able to watch it in cinemas come November 14), what we can say is it’s worth copping a ticket to.

We’ve been blessed with countless premieres in recent months, but this week’s rendezvous was particularly exciting as Sydney welcomed a smorgasbord of celebs to the carpet. Cast members including Paul Mescal, Connie Nielsen and Fred Hechinger all made their dutiful appearances.

But it didn’t stop there. There were also sightings of Matty Healy from The 1975, Gabbriette, and even Madelyn Cline?! Like, okay Sydney, pull through with the international superstars why don’t you. This is particularly good work for a Wednesday night, I’ll say.

Now onto the fashion…

As far as best dressed goes, hands down, without a doubt, I’m giving it to Connie Nielsen. Seriously, I’m convinced that woman was floating instead of walking. Heavenly, ethereal, I need to be her. That’s all.

I also have to give props to all the stars who made the effort to go Gladiator-esque themed. Pauly is subtly nodding to it. Merrick Watts potentially took it too far. Justin Hill looks like a Roman senator that’s about to sentence me to death (love that). And if you look close enough, you’ll be able to find me with the Roman goddess-like Dani Dacic.
