SHUT UP AND TAKE MY MONEY Sydney’s scoring a new festival. Here’s what you need to know.

Sydney, it’s official. The days of complaining about our live music scene are nigh.
Not only have small and medium-sized live music venues increased by 84% this past year, but we’ve got a smorgasbord of cracking headliners making their way down under in the next few months. Think Charli XCX, Kaytranada, and Kesha, just to name a few.
What’s more? After an array of festival and event closures following COVID, it appears that Sydney is finally making its well deserved comeback. Just today, it’s been announced that we’re getting an all-new and very exciting newcomer in the mix.
Introducing The Nowhere Festival. It’s the two-day, ‘transformative’ dance and techno festival going down on Cockatoo Island in early February next year. Born out of a collective of some of the world’s most talented producers and promoters, the festival aims to illuminate art, music and human connection.
It all sounds very Burning Man-esque, and tbh, we’re all here for it. In fact, festival founder Jody Coker has alread tee’d up an epic lineup of 50 international and Australian live acts and DJ’s. And while we don’t have the time or energy to give you the full list, you can expect Detroit’s very own Carl Craig and Moodymann to be headlining, alongside the likes of Paul Woolford, DJ Masda, Mr. Ho, Particles and Adi Toohey.
One-day tickets start at $119, which is also rather reasonable we think (we’re looking at you Laneway, with you $220 tickets). You’ll also be able to opt for overnight camping packages if you’re looking to make the most of the weekend.
Tickets are on sale November 5 at 9am. Head over here to nab yours. Go on, we know you want to.
