WHAT'S ON Here’s everything you need to know about Sydney Comedy Festival

BY: Tahlia Pritchard

With the end of daylight savings making things seem dark and gloomy, the mornings getting cooler, and winter fast approaching, there’s at least one bright light on the horizon for Sydney in April and May and that, of course, is the much-loved Sydney Comedy Festival.
When is Sydney Comedy Festival?
Kicking off on Monday 21 April, the festival is boasting its largest program in celebration of its 20th anniversary, with over 340 shows taking place across multiple iconic Sydney venues including Sydney Opera House, Bondi Pavilion, and the Enmore Theatre.
The comedy festival is stretching out far and wide this year in Sydney suburbs, hitting up everything from Chatswood and Cremorne to Penrith and Parramatta. The festival will wrap up on Sunday, May 18, so there’ll be plenty of weeks of laughs and good times.
Obviously with all those acts to choose from, it’s going to be hard to figure out where your dollars are best spent. Luckily for you, that’s where we come in.

Here’s a guide to the most-anticipated Sydney Comedy Festival shows

Of course seeing exclusive headliner Daniel Sloss is a must, with the charming and hilarious Scotsman hitting the Sydney Opera House on Thursday April 24. With his quick wit, dark humour, and ability to tackle uncomfortable material, the show will be Daniel’s only Australian show so you don’t want to miss out.
Joining Daniel for one night of fun will be Aunty Donna, Becky Lucas, Rhys Nicholson, Nick Cody, Demi Lardner, Damien Power, Kai Humphries, and Connor Burns.

Comedy Crawl
Ticket prices $50.
For a night of laughs and adventure, the comedy festival is taking to the Sydney streets on a pub crawl across four of the CBD’s best nightlife spots. Four comedy sets will be performed by four hilarious comedians at four popular bars, with all of the above included in one ticket.
A comedian will guide the group from bar to bar, as you enjoy a vino or three along the way.
The crawl starts in the Sydney CBD, between Wynyard and Town Hall, with an email or text sent to you with the starting point. Have fun solo, on a date night, or bring a group of friends, but just make sure they book the same session!

We love him on TikTok and now Nick White will be bringing his quick wit to the big stage, performing over three nights at the Bondi Pavilion, so get ready to see many of Nick’s unbearable TikTok characters in person.
Nick is set to recount his journey with mental health, but you know, in a funny way, as he takes Sydney fans through his journey from a scared little boy to a scared fully-grown man.
He’ll also be joined by (another scared) special guest Carli Furplam — otherwise known as the Dull Coworker.
