LAST MIN TIX Don’t have your shit together? Here’s everything you can still go to this NYE and NYD
BY: Kartya Vucetic
Yes, 2025 is just over 24 hours away. I know I speak for more than myself when I say that most of us probably still haven’t come to terms with that. And what a year it’s been.
Now, if you’re still scrambling for last minute plans on the busiest night of the year, fret not. You’re certainly not alone, and there’s still plenty of tickets to go around. So consider this your sign to get your shit together and book something.
And whether you’re planning on having a big NYE, or staying in for a quiet one, it’s no secret that NYD in Sydney serves just as much as it’s highly coveted counterpart. After all, what better way to ring in the new year than with a glass of Aperol spritz and a touch of vitamin D?
In short, consider this your sign to rally the plan-less stragglers and get booking. We’ve rounded up the best NYE and NYD events happening in Sydney that still have tickets very much available. For how long is another question.
Okay, all set? Here’s everything you can still go to this NYE and NYD.
New Year’s Eve
The Nowhere Festival NYE Launch Party
In 2025, Sydney’s scoring an all-new festival that’s quickly making headlines. And while we might be counting down the days until that early Feb weekend, we’re scoring a lil’ sneak peak of what’s to come this NYE. Fabric’s resident DJ Craig Richards will be headlining the annual MCA Rooftop affair, which also scores you prime views of the midnight fireworks. Be warned though, with great views comes not-so-great prices. If you’re looking for something budget friendly, skip this one.

Barney Cools at The Newport
It’s no secret that anyone living remotely close to the Northern Beaches flocks to The Newport come 8pm on NYE. Their annual event might attract mind-boggling numbers of people, but that’s also what makes it unreal. Barney Cools will be headlining this year, and we 10/10 recommend you find a mate who lives nearby to crash with. That, or be prepared to cop a $200 Uber home.

Timomatic at The Argyle
Yes, we love to hate on it. But we’d be lying if we haven’t had many the fun night at The Argyle. There’s a whirlwind of mixed emotions about it closing, and NYE will be the final night of The Rocks’ long-reigning institution. Of course, it wouldn’t be an Argyle send out without a Timomatic appearance. Tickets are also reasonably cheap given the inner-city location.
- WHERE: The Argyle, The Rocks
- HOW MUCH: From $40

NYE at Vic on the Park
FREE ENTRY and we love to see it. Some places just do it right. Vic on the Park is one of them, playing host to a range of local live bands to ring in 2025. Bootleg Rascal, Radio Free Alice, Bakers Eddy and Mac the Knife will all be making appearances. You’ll have to get in early to actually secure a spot though, but we have no problem with that.

- HOW MUCH: Free entry

New Year’s Day
Field Day
Lineup might not have received as great a wraps as previous years, but we’d be kidding ourselves if we said that Field Day is always fun. Great weather, multiple stages and a group of mates is exactly what’s going to beat that crippling hangover you’re trying to ignore. Chase & Status, Horsegiirl, Sonny Fodera and Meduza are all exceptional lineup standouts.

Watson’s Bay Hotel NYD Party
Without fail, this one goes off every year, without fail. And there’s no surprise there, really. Because if an Aperol spritz, great music and some vitamin D can’t soothe the sore head, you’re probably just a lost cause. Club Sol, Groove City and Lo99 will all be in attendance. The ticket’s pricey, but scores you canapés and a premium beverage package between 2pm and 4pm.

- HOW MUCH: Tickets are $128

Jungle Giants at Greenwood Hotel
No, it’s not a Thursday, which means that those over the age of 18 years can acceptably be seen at the North Sydney institution. And thank god for that, because the venue is hosting a lineup that rivals most. Think the Jungle Giants, CASSÖ, Dirty South and Kid Kenobi, just to name a few. As far as NYD events go, it’s also on the more reasonably priced side.
- WHERE: Greenwood Hotel, North Sydney
- HOW MUCH: Entry before 3pm is $53, after is $89

NYD at Hotel Steyne
The perfect op for those Northern Beach goers. Dave Lee, Dr Packer, Late Night Tuff Guy and Jeremy Healy will all be performing sets at the Manly institution, Hotel Steyne. Tickets once again on the more reasonable side (and by reasonable, we mean less than $100, which is about as good as it’s going to get on NYD).

- HOW MUCH: Tickets from $71
- CHECK IT OUT HERE.
Sammy Virji at Lost Paradise Official Afterparty
Once again perfect for those who wished they spent far too much money on a Lost Paradise ticket. Sammy Virji will be all that and more at the Lost Paradise Official Afterparty. SG Lewis + Friends will also be making an appearance. Once again, great music option.
