SPOILER ALERT
A MAFS world-first is due to air tonight, meaning it’s time to get your wine ready

|

In a MAFS world-first that literally nobody asked for, controversial groom Eliot Donovan and high-maintenance bride Lauren Hall are set to stroll down the aisle a second time tonight.

The plot twist, you’re wondering? It’s not to each other, thank god.

The return of MAFS’ Lauren and Eliot

It’s like somewhere out there, MAFS producers heard the collectives’s guttural screams piercing the still night air. “Please,” Australia wailed. “Can we please have Eliot and Lauren back?”

And lo-and-behold, our prayers were answered. Forget Katie, someone who actually deserves a second shot at love. It’s time to match Eliot up with someone who ticks his extensive checklist boxes (young, hot, doesn’t want a career), and Lauren up with someone more mature she can cook, clean, polish the shoes of, and trophy wife for.

Lauren, meet Clint Rice

While Wednesday night’s dinner party will see Lauren and Eliot come head-to-head for the first time since he left her on their honeymoon, first, Lauren has to marry pro golfer Clint Rice.

Unfortunately, it appears Lauren’s deranged sister Tamara won’t be making an appearance for her second wedding, so it’s hard to say if tonight’s episode will be worth tuning in for.

Clint is a 43-year-old golfer turned businessman from Tasmania, who left his 10-year relationship when his ex didn’t want to get married or have kids. While we don’t know a lot about Clint yet, he’s definitely got that vibe that screams “I’m rich”, which is something I truly cannot relate to.

Do we have high hopes these two will make it work? Uhhh, well, more on that in a bit…

Eliot, meet Veronica Cloherty

When Eliot left the experiment because the experts couldn’t find him a woman who met his list of requirements, it appeared as though the handsome 35-year-old groom was destined for a future life with some sort of advanced robot he could curate to suit his needs. Thankfully, the experts heard his cries for human touch and came running right back.

Eliot will wed Veronica Cloherty, who works as a fitness instructor and actress, having appeared in a selection of short films, including Streets of Colour in 2023. She was also a Miss Universe Australia National Finalist in 2016 and 2019, so surely that ticks a box.

The only potential trouble we’re predicting early is that Veronica is 32, and Eliot once said he hoped to be matched with someone under 30. After all, one’s much more likely to bag a babe if her prefrontal cortex hasn’t developed yet.

Spoiler: Clint Rice does end up with someone from MAFS

If you’re across the shitshow that is this year’s cast leaking things left, right and centre, you may know by now that Clint does find his happily ever after on MAFS… it’s just not with Lauren.

We’ll give you some clues: she’s got an accent, she isn’t afraid to have a good cry, and she was definitely, 100%, really Miss New Zealand. Read more about it here.
