FULL TIME COMMITMENT Three new MAFS trailers have been released ahead of the new season and OH MY GOD

BY: Kartya Vucetic

Ok, so I have a little confession to make. Despite it being Australia’s most popular show, and despite my serious weaknesses when it comes to shitty TV, I have never (and I mean never) watched a full season of MAFS, start to finish.
I’m telling you now that’s about to change.
Since late December, we’ve been absolutely treated to three MAFS teaser trailers that are equally as enticing as they are scandalous. And while a whole lot of it is production fluff, we’re already getting a sneak peak into some of this season’s main characters and biggest personalities.
Missed them? Your bad. But fret not, we’ll make sure to catch you up to speed with everything we know so far. Which also means that it’s time to strap yourselves in and cancel all your plans for the next three months. Because let’s be real, following MAFS truly is a full-time commitment. A bit like marriage, really.
Trailer 1:
Ok, so as expected, we start off with a whole lotta fluff and drama. Which we love. A few sneak peaks as to cast members (IYKYK), and the announcement that there are 20 (yes that’s right, 2-0) cast members. Like seriously, how do they find these people.
Then it gets really good. We’re briefly introduced to Lauren, who prides herself on “wanting to serve” her husband. Go off queen, I guess. And with two husbands she’s rumoured to be marrying, it sounds like she’ll be keeping herself busy. We also score a snippet into the discovery that our beloved Carina KNOWS her husband?! And he ghosted her?! Oh god, this is going to be soo good.
Trailer 2
Okay, so we’re warming up now. We hear that there’s “nothing fundamentally wrong” with Sierah, which is great news. But we’ll admit that the fact she has to reassure us about us doesn’t exactly leave us convinced. Eliot is already giving me a serious dose of the shits. And Jacqui’s “hit the jackpot”. Lauren’s also still banging on about serving her man, so I think we can put the two-and-two together as to who she’s been coupled up with. And if you’re still not following, do yourself a favour and head over here.
Other than that, all we’re getting are the names, faces and ages of some of the cast members. And it’s a good thing that we’re learning early, because it’s going to take quite a few quiz cards to remember all these once the season starts going.
Trailer 3:
Jamie, Jamie, Jamie. The woman that you are. Nine is really treating us with this one, as we’re finally starting to score some insider snippets to some of this season’s cast. We’re finally introduced to our first cast member of the block, which is none other than 28-year old, Jamie Marinos.
Ok, so what do we know? She’s a big personality, that’s for sure. Oh, and she loves coconut water. I’m also 100% on board with her list of red flags. We’ve also got a sneaking feeling that she’s been partnered up with 36-year old TikTok tradie, Dave Thomas. But we’re saving the rest of our spoilers, so you’ll just have to wait and see.
And that’s a roundup so far, ladies and gentlemen. Channel Nine have since come out with an official cast lineup announcement, but let’s be real, we’re so pervy that we already knew all of that. And with that, we’re officially counting down the minutes until Monday 27 January. In the meantime, I’ll be watching reruns of it on 9Now.
