RED CARPET SXSW opening night premiere kicks off with a fair turnout (mostly the cast from Home & Away)

|

SXSW officially kicked off today. So naturally, meant had to go all out for the evening celebrations. This year’s festival opened with the Australian premiere of Springsteen: Deliver Me from Nowhere, director Scott Cooper’s biopic about the boss himself.

Hosted at the Seymour Centre, the black carpet saw a decent roll call of local celeb faces, including Ada Nicodemou and James Stewart, Troy Cassar-Daley, Emily WeirAdam Hyde (aka Keli Holiday and one half of Peking Duk), and Bear Myrden, our newest Golden Bachelor.

The screening marked the official launch of SXSW Sydney’s week-long celebration of screen, which will showcase over 100 feature films, five world premieres, and 39 Australian premieres.

All in all, it was a respectable showing. Though if tonight proved anything, it’s that Sydney’s creative scene apparently starts and ends in Summer Bay.
