There’s no denying this year’s cast of MAFS have been a little sneakier than former participants. And while it’s fairly common knowledge that Channel Nine takes over the cast’s social media accounts while the series airs, some 2025 participants have decided to say a big ‘fuck no’ to that rule and use different social media accounts to get their version of events across.
From Jacqui Burfoot leaking texts and behind-the-scenes goss on her business Instagram account, to Adrian Araouzou using his twin brother’s TikTok account to get his version of events across. Nothing is sacred anymore, as the participants getting the “bad” edits attempt to regain control of their storylines.
Even Morena Farina, who hasn’t received quite as much screen time, has already given interviews about the show, telling media outlets that the real friction in her marriage to Tony Mojanovski was because he was still in love with his ex-wife. Oh, and because he slut-shamed her, something she claims has been cut out of the show.

Is the MAFS cast going rogue ruining the show for fans?
This season, there feels like there’s way more drama happening off-screen than on-screen. There’s already been so many storylines leaked before things even play out on the show. For example, we all bloody knew intruder groom Clint Rice was going to end up with Jacqui before we saw even saw him and Lauren Hall exchange their wedding vows. And while Jacqui hasn’t named him directly on her alt-account, blind fucking Freddie could tell that she’s shacked up with him.

Some fans have taken to social media to complain about the leaks ruining the show.
“I really wish all this would come out after airing. It makes some of the episodes boring because you’re no longer rooting for couples you know break up,” one person pointed out in a popular MAFS fan group. “You basically know the whole story before you watch it, so it does ruin it.”
“I think all the spoilers are ruining the show for the viewers. The viewers (us!!) invest our time watching the drama unfold. We take the time from our day to watch. Without us watching, they wouldn’t have a show. By knowing what’s happening in weeks/months ahead, it takes away from OUR experience of watching the show,” another fan said. “To hear that Jacqui and Clint are now together makes watching the rest of it a farce.”
Others hypothesised it could be the beginning of the end for MAFS if participants keep finding new ways of going rogue and spoiling their storylines. “I think it’s the beginning of the end for MAFS. It’s become such a fake shit show!” Someone else said.
Some other fans think it’s all now part of the process and said they’re enjoying the behind-the-scenes drama more than the show.
“I used to be annoyed by it years ago. I would try to avoid social media and any spoilers so it didn’t ruin the show and eventually I decided to listen to the podcasts, read the pages and make it all part of the process,” one fan commented. “After years of doing so now, I just see it as the ‘the way it is’ and probably enjoy all the behind-the-scenes goss more than the actual show in itself.”
